Agustin, siempre amenazado por formar parte de la UNPACU, se dirigía a Santiago de Cuba para asistir a una Misa junto a otros activistas que también trataban como él de burlar el operativo policial. Cuando el ómnibus en el que viajaban fue detenido, ellos obligados a descender, golpeados y trasladados a dependencias policiales donde fueron detenidos durante varias horas.
