Estaba con su esposo en la Terminal de Holguín las Baleares realizando una actividad de la UNPACU contra el régimen de los hermanos Castro cuando fue brutalmente golpeada junto a su esposo y detenida 5 días en el Municipio Rafael Freire. Es amenazada con ir a prisión de continuar su activismo en la UNPACU y con hacerle daño a su familia.
