Fue detenido el 1 de marzo por agentes del Departamento de la Seguridad de Estado y de la Policia Nacional Revolucionaria cuando tomaba imágenes de un derrumbe ocurrido en la calle Oquendo esquina San Rafael, municipio Centro Habana, La Habana. Fue llevado para la Unidad policial de Zanja, donde permaneció arrestado varias horas.
