La víctima fue detenida en Cárdenas, Matanzas durante las manifestaciones del 11J. La policía la arrestó violentamente, la golpeó y la acusaron de robo con fuerza por haber roto los cristales de la tienda La Nueva Natural. El juicio se dio el 10 de diciembre y se le impuso la indemnización a la Unidad Empresarial de Base del CIMEX de Cárdenas con 1,444,251 CUP (€57,770). Además, a pesar de que la solicitud del fiscal era de 20 años de prisión, en el juicio por apelación se redujo la sentencia a 12 años en prisión.
