Detenida arbitrariamente por agentes de la Policía Nacional al salir de su casa cuando se dirigía a la iglesia para asistir a misa. Fue introducida de manera violenta en un coche patrulla y conducida a las afueras de Bayamo donde permaneció durante tres horas encerrada en el coche, tiempo en el que recibió insultos y amenazas hacia ella y su familia por parte de los policías.
