El 19 de enero lo arrestaron por haber participado en las manifestaciones populares del 12 de julio en La Guinera. En la semana del 10 al 15 de enero de 2022 se le condenó a 20 años de prisión y a su regreso al Combinado tras haber finalizado el juicio se le confinó en una celda aislada.
